What is your business about.

I help serious collectors and African art enthusiasts build meaningful collections through authentic, well-documented tribal pieces sourced from old European collections, auction houses, and private estates — with trusted expertise built over 30 years in the field.

Who are you naturally drawn to serving?

Serious collectors, African art enthusiasts, interior decorators with a refined eye, and people who value authenticity, history, and cultural depth. I enjoy speaking with curious, respectful clients who ask good questions and want to learn.

What are collectors dreaming about ?

They want to build a collection of authentic African tribal art with historical value — pieces with soul, provenance, and meaning — and to feel confident that what they buy is genuine and significant.

How do you help them get that outcome?

  • I offer a curated selection of documented tribal masks and figures.

  • I provide personal insight into the history, symbolism, and ethnic background of each object.

  • I give collectors peace of mind by sourcing only from trusted European collections, estates, auction houses, and colleagues I’ve known for years.

  • I share what to avoid — such as tourist art or fakes — and offer fair pricing and transparency.

  • I educate them via emails, blog posts, and 1-on-1 communication.

What frustrates you in the African art field? What do you do differently?

There’s too much noise online — fake objects, vague claims, “tribal-style” decor passed off as real. Many pieces are enhanced (e.g., Songye figures with added elements to increase price), which often reduces value in my eyes. Provenance is frequently fabricated. I focus on authenticity, cultural integrity, and educating buyers, not selling illusions.

Do you believe that others in the African Art market might not?

I believe collecting African tribal art isn’t about trendiness or home decor — it’s about respecting the cultures and traditions behind each piece. A focused, meaningful collection is better than a wall of replicas. New collectors deserve to be educated, not exploited, and I see no justification for pricing objects far above their fair resale value.

Conclusion: David Norden help serious collectors and African art enthusiasts build meaningful, authentic collections through well-documented tribal pieces sourced from trusted European collections — with expert guidance rooted in over 30 years of experience.
