This horned Dan Mask from Ivory coast is 37 cm High.
Used during the passage to adulthood, it represents a forest spirit with antilope horns from the Poro society.
Description: Height 37 cm. Made of wood with remains of red fibers that decolored due to UV’s, one eye with metal insert, remains of human hairs under the nose and a feather on top between the horns. Two nails on the rim probably to hold a beard that disappeared.
A quite rare model of Dan mask
