Akan terracotta statue

Hands on knees for terracotta, a rare depiction of female wisdom in Akan votive pieces from Ghana, Ivory Coast.

When the arms are along the body it symbolise virtue.

Those genuine figures are quite rare, usually you will see only terracotta heads from the Akan.
