A classical Basalampasu mask.
H= 30 cm, 56cm with the beard. No stand.
Wood, raffia, remains of white kaolin in the mouth.
Provenance: Belgian private collection who acquired it in the 1970's.
Estimated age : 1930's-40's.
The Salampsu from Congo used to cut their teeth in a pointy sharp shape to frighten their enemies.
